An Enriching June Holiday

An Enriching June Holiday

It’s the holidays!

We kicked off the first week with a series of bowling, puppetry art, and animal mural painting activities. With the help from ANZA, we also embarked on a wood works project to improve our garden terraces. During the rest of the holidays, a variety of recreational activities were planned for our children, including:

  • Drama workshop with Singapore Repertory Theatre
  • Visit to Singapore Science Centre and Omni-Theatre
  • Canvas art jamming session at My Art Space
  • Tour of Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden
  • Aquascaping activity and Microsoft Powerpoint workshop at ITE College West
  • Volunteering experience at Lion Befrienders Senior Activity Centre

In addition, our youths organised Melrose Home’s very own holiday carnival with snack and photo booths for all to enjoy. Through this fun carnival, the youths fundraised for their upcoming values-in-action (VIA) project at Orange Valley Nursing. We are proud of them for doing their part to pay it forward and support others in our community!

Many other enriching programmes were planned by our Youth Wing team as well, including:

  • Night cycling challenge along East Coast Park
  • Day trek along the Green Corridor
  • 2 Star Kayaking Certification
  • Visit to Wave House Sentosa
  • A fun karaoke session

Thank you to the volunteers from ANZA Singapore, National Institute of Education (NIE), ITE College West, Bukit Timah CC, Mayfair Park NC, Lego Singapore, Poh Heng Jewellery Singapore, Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, and SportsCare Singapore for supporting our June holiday programmes 🙂
